On the Nissan Terrano II R20, the front control arms and guided rear axle work together to determine how precisely the vehicle responds to steering, braking and load changes. Aged rubber bushes at several mounting points can allow additional play to develop.

This orange 75 Shore A polyurethane kit renews the front control arms, rear trailing arms, rear Panhard rod and anti-roll-bar bushes. It is intended as a comprehensive suspension overhaul for mixed road, touring and off-road use.

Reduced movement across multiple mounting points

Soft or cracked rubber deforms more under braking, lateral and drive forces, allowing the control arms and rear axle to move further than intended. Polyurethane retains its shape more consistently and can reduce this movement.

This can support more defined front-wheel guidance, more stable lateral location of the rear axle and more consistent anti-roll-bar response. The final result also depends on the condition of joints, wheel bearings, dampers and steering components.

Important note on the front upper control arms

For the front upper control-arm bushes, remove only the old rubber from the original bush. The outer metal shell remains in the control arm and is reused when fitting the PU bushes.

Installation note

Remove the remaining old bushes completely and clean all mounting surfaces thoroughly. Use the supplied assembly grease on the specified contact surfaces. Suspension and axle-location work should be carried out professionally, and all fasteners should be rechecked after installation.
