On the Toyota Hilux N25/N2, the rear leaf-spring bushes locate the axle under load, during braking and on uneven terrain. When the original rubber bushes become soft or worn, the rear axle can move more and feel less settled.

This blue 85 Shore A kit renews the front and rear leaf-spring eyes as well as the shackles. The heavy-duty off-road setup is designed for higher loads and deflects less at the mounting points than a softer standard version.

Why PU on a heavily loaded Hilux?

Under high payloads, aged rubber bushes can move sideways and deform more around the spring bolts. Polyurethane retains its shape better under load and can therefore locate the leaf springs and shackles more precisely.

This supports more consistent axle location during braking, acceleration and on rutted tracks. Due to the firmer setup, road impacts may, however, be transmitted more directly into the frame.

Installation note

Inspect spring bolts, shackles and mounting points for corrosion and wear marks. Worn metal parts must be replaced separately. Clean all contact surfaces and use the supplied assembly grease.
